Chinese Herbs – Essential for Phlegm

Posted by: David Peterson , April 27, 2013

chinese herbs phlegmThe Chinese herbs have gained popularity over the years because of their success at gaining the desired results and relieving the patients from the pain as soon as possible. In case of the transformation of Phlegm, there are varieties of Chinese herbs available in the markets and on web that have specific and different target organs that they operate on, although their results are quite similar to each other with the exception of few.

Strictly defining the Phlegm, it is the mucous secreted from the cells lining our respiratory tract. It is a very natural procedure in which very low amounts of phlegm are regularly secreted by the cells. It helps in lubricating the tract and keeping it warm. But in case of many infections, the secretion of phlegm can increase by manifolds to irritate and agitate or respiratory tracts and produce coughing. Therefore, to relieve the pain created from these coughs, Chinese herbs have been and are recommended by many professional physicians.

Generally speaking, the main organs that are targeted by the Chinese herbs include Lungs, Large Intestines, Stomach, Liver and Kidney. The herbs operate on these organs to transform and expel the phlegm from the body and reduce the irritation and agitation created from it. They help in opening up and disseminating the lung qi, reduce or expel the phlegm, and redirect the lung qi downward thereby stopping coughs and warming up the lungs. Besides, they promote the discharge of pus and soften up the areas of hardness. Therefore they also benefit the throat which may be damaged by excessive involuntary coughing being produced.

Furthermore, they dissipate the nodules and cool down the blood and stop bleeding whilst resolving toxicity and promoting urination. The Chinese herbs also harmonize the stomach, clear its heat and redirect the stomach qi downwards. In addition, they clear the intestines, unblock the bowel and encourage the expression of rashes.
